Foto Flip Friday – January Theme: “ANIMALS” (Week 1)

Welcome to a brand new edition of Foto Flip Friday – a selected showcase of photos dredged up from my bountiful photo archives and whittled into pretty little “flip/flop” postcards each Friday.  And to add to the fun, each month I’ll challenge myself to unearth a series of images that meet a monthly theme.

As I’m presently poised to skip off to those luscious Galapagos Island come Sunday, naturally I’m over-the-moon excited to see the legendary wildlife there. Upon my return, no doubt I’ll have lots of new pics of giant tortoises, iguanas, Blue-footed Booby birds, et al.

But meanwhile, it seems appropriate to make this month’s FFF theme a walk-down-memory-lane of the many amazing critters I’ve seen in my travels:  ANIMALS

(Do mouseover to see a short message on the back of each postcard.
Simply mouseover the image and watch the *magic!)

* Well o.k. for those viewing in IE, not so much a magical “flip” as a fading change. If you want to see the flip/flop, try viewing in Chrome or Firefox.

And for this week’s second entry, we whiz to “The Land Down-under”, for a glimpse of:

All this month (when I’m not peering at giant tortoises or swimming with sharks!), I’ll be rummaging through my archives for more “Animals”, so check back next Friday to see another flip/flop postcard or two from my past.

And meanwhile – if you’d like to submit a “Animals” photo of your own (in landscape format, min. 700 px. wide), just upload it to an online source (e.g. your blog, Facebook, Flickr, etc – make sure the privacy settings are set to “public”), and post a link to it in the comments below.

Who knows?  I might just whittle it into a flip/flop digital postcard here!

Only wild animal photos I have are from the Singapore zoo, lizards, geckos and small, blurry objects far away. Perhaps this one will amuse your readers.

Location: Hua Hin, Thailand

Message: On the edges of Hua Hin, vacant lots are for grazing.

Great photos Dyanne, that have me dreaming of Africa and Australia and hoping to get there sometime in 2016… Happy New Year and hope you have as much fun in the Galapagos Islands as we did!

Love the photo of the lions all eating at the dinner table! What luck to come across that!
