WOW Worthy Stuff: October Edition

O.k. take your seats kiddos, settle down and prepare to be “Wowed!”. It’s that time again – another episode of “WOW Worthy” stuff here at the ol’ TL corral. Then again, hard to say if MY wowzerly picks will necessarily tickle your toes, but hey – this is MY blog after all, and I don’t charge admission, so it’s pretty much a YMMV, thing, no? 😉

RubySlippers320x244O.k., with fair-warning out of the way, let’s get started. First up, a nod to Halloween (and coincidentally imho truly Wow Worthy):

As once a single Mom myself, each autumn brought a brainstorm of Halloween costume ideas for my two young daughters.  From my eldest’s 1st Halloween as a stuffed pumpkin complete with pumpkin vine cap, to oddball notions of dressing as a bag of jelly beans (yes, we’re talking a dry-cleaning body-bag tied with ribbon at the neck and filled with multi-colored “jellybean” balloons), it was ever fun to devise homemade solutions to the annual dilemma of how to turn a pair of Goodwill shoes into “ruby” slippers (via Elmer’s glue and a boatload of red glitter of course) or fashion a yellow raincoat and galoshes into an “Oregonian” costume.

In retrospect however, I only wish I’d had the brilliance to use the silliness of Halloween costumes as a lesson to my daughters in reaching for their dreams, as did this amazing Mom:

And in the “Not So Much Wow Worthy, as a Walk Down Memory Lane” Department:

And speaking of my dear departed Seattle…
we have a single entry in the “WW Woo-hoo” Department:

Woo-HOOO! along with well DU-UH! Now that I’m settled here in Chiang Mai, Thailand it suddenly dawns on me to take a peek at nearby geocaches here in Thailand. On my recon visit here to CM last year I did find one geocache, but searching now it turns out..

Well o.k. not exactly like caching in Seattle, but still…

There’s more than a THOUSAND geocaches hidden in Thailand (vs. a paltry 50 in Vietnam), and furthermore – there’s more than SEVENTEEN caches hidden within 5 miles of my hotel – – yay! Clearly it’s time to dust off the GPSr and seek some hidden treasure!

So… whatcha think? Did these tidbits wiggle your Wowzer-toes? Do let me know in the comments.
