Looking Back on 2016: A Dozen “Postcards”
Though I rarely make “resolutions” for the new year (much less KEEP them for more than a week!), I do believe reflecting on the past 12 months can be most gratifying, if not inspiring going forward. This year, I thought I’d select a few pics of my most memorable experiences in 2016 and share them with you.
I also thought it was about time I renewed my nifty postcard fade effect – with an image on the “front” and a short message on the other side (simply mouseover each image to read the message on the back).
Needless to say, choosing only 12 images was seriously tough, but here – in chronological but otherwise in no particular order, are a dozen of my most memorable moments of 2016:

It has indeed been an interesting year, Ted. And one with a boatload of new pics and travel tales that will no doubt see me through many months/TL posts to come.

Loved this post and I’m looking forward to your tales of adventure. I think what really strikes me most when I look at your pictures though, Dyanne, is your smile that says you are pretty darn happy to be exactly where you are – wherever that may be!
Glad you enjoyed my little walk-down-memory-lane of 2016. And yes, I must say – I *am* pretty darn happy these days – wherever I happen to be.
Though quick to add – it’s not like I haven’t had my fair share of disappointment and grief over the years (i.e. few get to my dodderin’ age w/o bumping into plenty of both), but…
So very much of “happy” is plainly “attitude” and how we choose to react to life’s (both big and little) curve-balls, yes? Learning from our mistakes and working *hard* to create a positive life imho is really what it’s all about.
It’s pretty much a constant struggle, but one thing is for sure: surrounding yourself with positive folks (like YOU, Anita!) and avoiding the grumps that seem hell-bent on dragging us down – is a BIG part of what keeps me grinning. ;D
