Speaking of Toilets…

Though I’m no longer (leastwise geographically) personally intimate with the (crazy, it must be said) turn of political events in my native land, I still can’t help but wax voyeur on some of the more insane developments.

Take the recent North Carolina “bathroom” thing, for example. Seriously. Regardless of one’s religious/political/intolerant social views – the issue isn’t even PRACTICAL. I mean, how could you even ENFORCE such a ridiculous “law”?

I’m tempted to post a link or three to the more over-the-top nutsoness (yes, that IS a word, I just officially coined it) on the issue, but suffice, I fear that – in this digital age of thoughtless deluge sharing – is precisely what perpetuates the insanity.

Besides, (save for the occasional rant here, here, here), oh and especially HERE), TL has never been about petty political nonsense. You, dear readers don’t come here to get mired in such tiresome controversies.

That said though – the “toilet” issue reminds me of an interesting site I stumbled across this week listing stunning pics of:  10 of the World’s Most Memorable Toilets.

And more to the point personally – how THOSE toilets, compare to my own various ‘n sundry TTE (Toilet Travel Experiences) which I proudly present a sample of to you here for the historical record.

And yes, that’s an uber-young TravelnLass enjoying a frigid outdoor shower amid a Central American jungle on her first (of many) trips to Belize.  Indeed, arguably, that exhilarating shower may well be responsible for setting me on my life-long path to quit a lucrative climb up the corporate career ladder – in favor of starting my own little “Imagine” int’l tour biz that in turn, led me to 30+ years of seeking out just such masochistical powder rooms all over the globe.

Rustic travel bathrooms I've known.

Yes, we're talking about toilets...

Nutsoness as a word works for me, Dyanne. Especially when viewing the events unfolding in our home land from the safe distance of another country! Jaw dropping …
