Foto Flip Friday – January Theme: “ANIMALS” (Week 2…)

…and 3?

O.k., o.k. I’ve now missed not one, but TWO consecutive editions of Foto Flip Fridays – whilst I was out gawking at giant tortoises, swimming with sharks (yikes, TRUE!) and snapping a gazillion pics of all manner of wondrous creatures in one of THE most amazing corners of the globe: The Galapagos Islands.

I suppose I should apologize for my digital negligence, but really – can you honestly blame me?

I mean… while I take my TL chores here quite seriously, surely you can understand how utterly foolish it would be to waste even a single moment at a stupid keyboard, when I could instead be dipping toes into the aquamarine seas of the legendary Gs, yes?

Thus, now that I’m back home in Cuenca (with more than 2 THOUSAND new photos to wade through and edit) it’s catch-up time at the FFF tienda.

So let’s just call this: Foto Flip Saturday, shall we?

(Do mouseover to see a short message on the back of each postcard.
Simply mouseover the image and watch the *magic!)

First, a glimpse of one of the graceful creatures that glided by me whilst snorkeling off Isabella Island in the Galapagos:

* Well o.k. for those viewing in IE, not so much a magical “flip” as a fading change. If you want to see the flip/flop, try viewing in Chrome or Firefox.

And here (at the opposite end of the “graceful” spectrum), a tongue-in-cheek image submitted by FourLetterNerd in Thailand (thanks, Bill!):

To make up for the other lost “Friday” this month, trust that next Friday, I shall whittle an extra few flip-flop creatures to share – both from my past travels, as well as at least one more from the incredible Gs.

And meanwhile – if you too would like to submit an “Animals” photo of your own (in landscape format, min. 700 px. wide), just upload it to an online source (e.g. your blog, Facebook, Flickr, etc – make sure the privacy settings are set to “public”), and post a link to it in the comments below.
