Foto Flip Friday – August Theme: “Yellow” (Week 4)

Welcome to another edition of Foto Flip Friday – a selected showcase of photos dredged up from my bountiful photo archives and whittled into pretty little “flip/flop” postcards each Friday. And to add to the fun, each month I’ll challenge myself to unearth a series of images that meet a monthly theme.

This month’s theme is: YELLOW

This is the 4th week of the “Yellow” theme and I’ve found another set of saffron images from my travel photo archives. This one a portrait of a most distinguished gentleman I met at a wedding that I was lucky enough to attend as I sped by motorbike for 4 days from Kalaw to Inle Lake.  (do mouseover to see a short message on the back of each postcard).

(simply mouseover the image and watch the *magic!)

* Well o.k. for those viewing in IE, not so much a magical “flip” as a fading change. If you want to see the flip/flop, try viewing in Chrome or Firefox.

And here’s another lemony image – a crumbling wall in a tiny village in Aswan, Egypt:

As August is a five Friday month this year I’ll be rummaging through my archives for more “YELLOW” images this coming week, so check back next Friday to see another yellow flip/flop postcard or two from my past.

And meanwhile – if you’d like to submit a “yellow” photo of your own, just upload it to an online source (e.g. your blog, Facebook, Flickr, etc – make sure the privacy settings are set to “public”), and post a link to it (along with whatever note you want on the back) in the comments below (before midnight EDT on Wednesday, 27 August, please).

Who knows?  I might just whittle it into a flip/flop digital postcard here!

Love the idea of attending a Hilltribe wedding in Myanmar. Travel gives you so many unexpected experiences that you just have to be ready to reach out and hold on!

Would only take a few minutes for me to downsize one to 678px and upload to Box. I’ll do it now and let you decide which one to use.

Thanks to you, I now have tags for ‘yellow’ and ‘gold’ in my photo album. I’m glad you picked a color that pops while scrolling thumbnails.

Post card front: Hoi An, Vietnam Back: Hoi An waterfront around sunset was photogenic everywhere I looked.
