3Foto Flip Friday – August Theme: “Yellow” (Week 2)
Welcome to a brand new edition of Foto Flip Friday – a selected showcase of photos dredged up from my bountiful photo archives and whittled into a pretty little “flip/flop” postcard each Friday. And to add to the fun, each month I’ll challenge myself to unearth a series of images that meet a monthly theme.
This month’s theme is very simple: YELLOW
This is the 2nd week of the “Yellow” theme and I’ve unearthed another long ago image from my travel photo archives – this one in pale tones of yellow. (do mouseover to see a short message on the back of each postcard).
(simply mouseover the image and watch the *magic!)
* Well o.k. for those viewing in IE, not so much a magical “flip” as a fading change. If you want to see the flip/flop, try viewing in Chrome or Firefox.
And this week we have a special treat – a Foto Flip Friday submission from a loyal TL reader that clearly epitomizes the warmth of “Yellow”:
Submitted by Sue Pearson, MosaicMache.etsy.com
All this month I’ll be rummaging through my archives for more “YELLOW” images, so check back next Friday to see another flip/flop postcard or two from my past.
And meanwhile – if (like Sue – thanks!) you’d like to submit a “yellow” photo of your own, just upload it to an online source (e.g. your blog, Facebook, Flickr, etc – make sure the privacy settings are set to “public”), and post a link to it (along with whatever note you want on the back) in the comments below.
Who knows? I might just whittle it into a flip/flop digital postcard here!
What a fun photo trip that sounds like you had! And another great shot, is that snow on the darker mountains on the left? The temperature variations of that area are quite unusual!
Yes, likely snow Sue – we did the photo safari in November – stayed in stray motels along the way and car-camped. One morning in Bryce Canyon (which btw was a magical wonderland dusted with fresh snow at the time) we woke up to find our 5 gal water jug frozen SOLID!
Well thank you for letting me submit (and foto flipping it), the pic of my cob oven, a warm yellow for sure! Looks real pretty on a post card!
