(CELTA) D.O.N.E. Woo-HOO! (and some luscious travel plans…)

Overlooking Dalat, VietnamJust a quick one here to celebrate the E.N.D. of my CELTA course, and drop a few pics.  Can’t even describe what it feels like to be fancy-free w/ time to take pics, and just relax.

Then again, already I have LOTS of plans.  Already have my bus ticket to Dalat (where I hope to settle soon) – 6 hrs. / $10 – I leave at 11am Sunday morning, for 3 nights in Dalat – just enough time to give it a good look-see, then head back here to HCMC for…

I have an interview for a teaching job w/ ILA next Thursday, the 15th.  Not sure I want to teach/stay in HCMC, but ILA would be an excellent place to get some teaching experience.  In any case I only want to teach part time.  So we shall see how the interview goes.

And then…

For Christmas/New Years, I’ve now decided where to treat myself.  I looked and looked, and there’s many luscious corners to choose from around here.  But suffice…

Orangutan350x263

Woa – can’t wait to see these guys in the wild!

My plan is now to head to SUMATRA (Indonesia) for THREE WHOLE WEEKS – especially to see the ORANGUTANS!

Seriously, the more I read, the more excited I get.  It’s very much my cup of travelin’ tea.  And w/ three weeks, I can not only rough it with an orangutan jungle trek, but Sumatra also has some serious beaches (for plenty of wiggling of aforementioned toes in aforementioned sand) and lots of interesting local peoples.

Looks like I can fly to Kuala Lumpur for less than $200, then just $79 and a hop, skip ‘n a jump across the Malacca Strait from KL to Medan in northern Sumatra, Indonesia.

And meanwhile…  Today was our FINAL day of the CELTA and we spent the morning having a party with all our students.  Here’s a peek at some of the fun:

This is exactly why you’re there! Remember all of the doubts you kept having before you left? (I don’t, either.) 🙂

….and you’ve obviously held your own beautifully with all those youngsters. I’ll bet you ARE the fun teacher. Way to go!
