Random Photo Memory: Little Soldier

WW-LittleChineseSoldier350x506Did I mention I L-O-V-E my (HP-ScanJet-G4050) scanner? This honey scans *16* slides at a crack!  And given my gazillions of pre-digital travel pics (yep, we’re talkin’ neanderthal F-I-L-M here, folks), the G4050 has been mighty handy.  Still… it’s taken me nearly a year to scan all my travel slides. (o.k. so – perfectionist that I am, I tend to tweak every blessed slide before I scan each batch of 16.)

In any case, it’s been great fun (not to mention a most nostalgic walk-down-travel-memory-lane) wading through them all, and I hope you enjoy this new glimpse of my long-ago visit to China.

It’s from November, 1990, and – clearly the dear little “soldier” lad in this image is now all grown up!

Awww — this is so cute! Of course now he’s probably some jerk in passport control…

I desperately need a good scanner as well. I have gazillions of actual photos (no slides) — and the thought of actually doing them one-by-one is making me dizzy…
